Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What got you into technology?

A: When I was in elementary school my favorite part of the week was the computer lab. It has always fascinated me with what you can do with technology and I found it very easy to learn. My dad always had a saying growing up and it was “work smarter not harder.” The best way in my mind to do that is with technology so I fully embraced it.

Q: Are your tech tips something that everyone can do?

A: Absolutely, with tech tips they are designed to be something everyone can try. Some tips need some money so that would be the only limiting factor of the tips I give out. I try to explain why and how to do things so that everyone from the tech savvy people who have been learning technology for years and those who are just getting into the deep dive into the world of technology will feel comfortable
Q: Why do you consider technology a hobby?

A: I consider technology a hobby because there are so many aspects and many of those who enjoy one aspect of technology enjoy more parts of it. For example, I used to just like making websites and loved phones. Now that I have grown my technology passion I have built computers, keyboards, streaming setups, as well as have most of my devices enabled to be “smart.” Liking one thing in technology is a fantastic start into the technology hobby but going further into more parts of technology would put you more into the tech hobbyist category in my opinion.

Q: It sounds like having tech as a hobby is really expensive, how could I afford it?

A: Technology as a hobby really fits any budget. Yes, there are some restrictions due to money but knowledge and a lot of what you can learn is completely free. There are so many videos, podcasts, websites and blogs that talk about many parts of the world of technology. I myself learned how to build my computers and keyboards just from watching youtube and once I saved enough money I did it myself. You can set yourself a tech budget if you are willing to spend but the tech hobby is a lot more than just having fancy gear.

Q: What if I don’t understand a lot about technology?

A: That is totally fine because there are so many parts of technology that you can be a hobbyist in. Some things even for me I do not understand but that is ok because you just find what you like and you can expand your knowledge at your own pace. Smart home devices or the cloud isn’t your cup of tea? That is alright, try looking at networking or things like that. It is your hobby so you can pick and choose what interests you the most. Personally I think you should start looking at basic things that you could use in your everyday life. The more you can use the technology the more you will understand and potentially like much more because it is useful.
